Promoting Family Literacy

ABOUT

My name is Justine Rose. I am a senior at Malden High School and I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award project. 

 

I have decided to set up a small reading library in the waiting room of the Cambridge Health Alliance in Malden where kids and their families can go to read books for all ages and backgrounds. My goal for this project is to have a team of volunteers who will sign up for various hours in the waiting room to sit and read books to kids, encourage their families to do the same, and show kids how fun reading can be. I am also looking for volunteers to take on various other leadership roles of the project, such as organizing donated books, planning different events, and being in charge of other volunteers. This is where you come in. If you are interested in spending a few hours of your week reading to kids, or if you are interested in taking on an even larger role in this project, please contact me!

 

 

Also, if you have any access to books that could be donated to the library, please let me know. All ideas and supplies are welcome.
